Popu Bistro à Pizza (Dames)

A pizza bistro whose originality lies in its "French-style" pizzas (using locally sourced ingredients). The restaurant has a very extensive menu, perhaps too extensive at first glance, as this isn't usually a guarantee of quality (without being mediocre). Pizzas (a wide selection), salads, platters, and other dishes, including a burger with Cantal cheese, are on the menu. Certified homemade cuisine. Fresh ingredients. Having observed the organization and service during my dinner, everything is extremely well-oiled. There is, of course, a dedicated pizza chef solely focused on pizzas, while the kitchen handles everything else. The service is responsive. The manager is welcoming and efficient. This meant that even on a Friday evening with a packed terrace, a few diners, and takeout orders, I wasn't left out in the cold. There wasn't much of a wait to be served, nor when I asked for more bread and a carafe of water. It's in these details, besides the quality of the food, that you know you're in a good restaurant. I had a Parigote salad served with Prince de Paris ham: a generous portion, and the ham was served in abundance! Prince de Paris is the last ham made in the capital; it's a superior quality, artisanal ham appreciated by connoisseurs. Most of the desserts are homemade. They use high-quality suppliers for aperitifs, spirits, cheeses, and charcuterie. The ice cream and sorbets are from Maison Antolin, a renowned name (quality artisanal ice cream since 1916, originating from the South of France). The music level is just right: not too loud, just the right volume to elegantly complement the restaurant's ambiance. In short, a very good restaurant with extended hours, excellent products, and a good selection. Additional note: the establishment is larger than it appears from the street; Clean restrooms. One drawback: the coffee. Espresso from "Un Grain à Paris" (I'm not familiar with it). I didn't like it at all. But that's purely subjective; I'm used to Italian roasters. The plus: a selection of pastis, including one from Île de Ré, organic and vintage—absolutely fantastic!

We ordered the salads for once and we weren't disappointed! Generous portions, perfect for big eaters (2 guys), we'll be back! Thanks ☺️

A visit to Popu on Rue des Dames is like arriving in a haven of peace. You'll find delicious food, a discreet neighborhood atmosphere, and impeccable service. A big thank you to the hosts!

For not lingering and glancing at the menu (which didn't appeal to me) before ordering, the manager considered me impolite and made it quite clear, even though I remained polite. I therefore return the compliment and hope that any customer reading this review will reconsider coming here, as this demonstrates a lack of professionalism in the industry. I hope this kind of review will make him think twice.

Best meal in Paris and finally exceptional service wich seems hard to find in Paris. Cannot recommend enough this place!!! The food and the warmth of the owner and staff make you feel so like home and better! Do give it a try! A French pizza better then the Italian. Thank you guys

I recommend it, it's not expensive and it's tasty

It was super empty, we were suspicious, but we actually loved it. Excellent meat. My daughter said the chicken was the best she'd ever had. Delicious mashed potatoes too. I recommend it.

Undercooked dough, frozen burrata, avoid this place! However, the service was good and they made a gesture of goodwill: I didn't have to pay! (I'm giving 5 stars for the service, but the pizzas aren't up to par, sorry.)

Excellent service and excellent pizza made with fresh ingredients. A really great place that I highly recommend. A little chocolate with the coffee would be a nice touch 😉

**Sonnet for a Dinner at Popu's** Few inns have, in so few minutes, Elevated discomfort to the level of consummate art. One Friday evening, weary of a long week, We sought rest—we found struggle. Barely across the threshold, the tone became an absolute rule: "We decide the tables here, madam." Thus begins a dance of amiable attentions Where the host is tolerated, but never awaited. Four spritzes ordered to start the evening; The order is taken, no doubt expressed. Yet, a lingering bitterness of tonic is served, A discreet substitute for an absent Campari. No apology, however: "Look at the menu." At Popu's, the mistake always lies with the customer. The pizza follows: shallow crust, soulless, Cream, melted cheese—freshness on holiday. Pizza "French style"? Italy would blush.

Excellent spot for lunch or a light dinner with friends. Super fast service and friendly staff. Good value for money - generous portions. We didn't order the pizzas, but they had a great menu... lots of choices! We've added this place to our favorites to return to next time we're in Paris!
